Fall Symposium

This will be a full day event designed for RRCA running club leadership enrichment in the areas of governance, training programs, and race directing. This first annual event will be Oct 12, 2019, in Eldersburg, MD, 9:00 to 4:00 (8:30 morning check-in, 11:30 afternoon check-in) — the sign up page has directions.

See Symposium Info for details on the topics which will be covered.

The symposium will have three tracks: Governance*, Training Programs, and Race Directing. We will try to schedule the sessions as best as we can to allow most people to attend all they’re interested in, but as some of these will be running concurrently there may be personal conflicts. For this reason we recommend your club send several people for coverage, and afterwards share the information learned among yourselves and club leaders who were unable to attend.

We expect many leaders and prospective leaders from running clubs all over Maryland and DC — what a great way to network and learn from and with your peers!

A nominal fee covers lunch, coffee and snacks. Other expenses come out of the Maryland RRCA general fund. Any donations received will help replenish the general fund.

* Governance simply means how your running club is operated and managed to carry out the club’s mission, including setting the mission, budgeting, financial oversight, policy development, effective board organization, etc.
