For many years, we have held a Grand Prix for Maryland and DC RRCA clubs — you may not know it but this series is somewhat unique among the states.
The health and safety of our members is our primary concern. In response to the novel coronavirus COVID-19, restrictions on large gatherings have become increasingly strict, affecting events all over the nation. Given the uncertainty of vaccine and/or therapeutic availability by the fall, we don’t feel comfortable with encouraging people to run races at this time.
In consultation with the club presidents, we have decided to cancel the 2020 Maryland / DC RRCA Grand Prix. Hopefully this will be just a bad dream by 2021, and we’ll be able to hold the series next year.
